Mobile Video Poker: Rules for Success

When you’re surfing the mobile casino games your provider has to offer, Video Poker may be one you’ve glanced at, but never taken the time to play, having primarily been a slots player. Video Poker can be an exciting and profitable way to get your mobile gamble on, but there a few tips and tricks that can help you ensure a longer and more profitable experience with the fast five card game.

As with many casino games, Video Poker players live and die by the jackpot with their game of choice; the ability to most effectively hit the jackpot is what separates the constant players from the quick busters. Most mobile casinos only offer one variant of Video Poker, although some mobile casinos, like Bet365 mobile, offer more: Jacks or Better. This game allows you to bet between one and five coins per play, normally; always play the max. The amount you can win for the jackpot is usually much larger than the 5x amount of coins you put in, meaning your potential profit shoots up in the long run by maxing your played coins. If you have to move down in your preferred stakes to do so, do it.

Having covered jackpots, the second important rule? If you have a hand that is close to making a royal flush (a jackpot) you should regularly go for that hand, even if it means breaking up a potential or current winner! For example, if you’re dealt the KQJ10 of hearts and another jack, your best long term play is to discard the jack and go for the royal. It seems silly to toss away a guaranteed win, but remember; not only are you drawing at the royal, but your hand still has plenty of potential to win; straights, flushes, and the remaining 8 face cards still net you a win. The jackpot win makes this the long term profitable play.
