Daily Hand Quiz

DailyHandQuiz

Game type: $50 rebuy, PokerStars
Stage of tourney: Bubble
Your hand: Q♠7♠

The setup: The bubble breaks when two more players exit this tournament.

You are in last place.

This hand a few players fold and the action is to you with a suited Q7. The SB is a tough tournament regular, but you have no read on the BB. The other players behind you haven’t done much out of the ordinary since you’ve been at the table.

What’s your play? If you fold, what’s your minimum hand for raising in this spot?

Actually, I think SB is in last place here.
I think a shove here is pretty transparent and is likely to get called by the majority of hands that are ahead of us and chances are one of the remaining 4 players has one of those hands.
I might make this move from the button, but I don’t like it with so many players left to act behind.

Fold. We are not favored against the four random hands still to act. SB has fewer chips now but blinds will hit us next and knock us back to the basement.

If our image was tight I’d probably shove, beating the SB to it. However, I’m folding a 50-50 hand since there are still several players to act. A SB shove will probably not be looked-up by the BB, nevertheless Hero M is still enough to wait a bit more. I’d shove with K9+.

This is clearly a shove since you are first to open and the blinds are going to eat you up. If you’re only purpose here is to cash, then you could possibly wait out an orbit for a better hand, but if you want a shot at winning you have to be willing to go in with even a marginal hand and hope you have two live cards.

I understand your point, but I disagree with the reasoning.
First – Q7 is ahead of about 50% of the possible starting hands. With 4 players left to act, that means there are likely 2 players with stronger hands. Granted not all the stronger hands will call, but in their shoes I’d be pretty tempted to call SS shove with the top 25%.
Second – H has less than 10% of the leader’s stack on the bubble. My first priority would be survival; likelihood of winning is low until at least one or two double ups.

I’m with Edgie212 here. Shove it while we still have fold equity.

The big blind cannot call without a premium hand. He is short as well. I shove.

15BB is short? This is literally riding the line on the push-fold chart with 4 to act in a “normal” table. Im folding, i hate getting it in with this sort of hand.

And I shove with K10+/22+/Q10s+
