Daily Hand Quiz

DailyHandQuiz

Game type: $50 MTT
Stage of tourney: Early
Your image: n/a
Opponent’s image: No strong read
Your hand: A♠J♣

The setup: You’re on a 20 BB stack in this tournament that is still quite a ways from the money when the following hand comes up.

You get AJo in the BB. Two players fold and a short stack pushes. A fairly deep-stacked player flat calls. The table folds to you in the BB.

What’s your play?

dumb quiz. easy fold. next.
If I had a bigger stack I might try and isolate on player C, but as it is player D is calling our raise here, and we are three way for our tournament life (or at least half our stack) with AJo. Calling and hoping to spike a flop is plainly just sad, so I’m folding all day every day and waiting for a better spot.
Sure, player C will have a wide range, and the deep stacked player D knows this, blah blah, just fold.

Voted fold. Player D just calling rather than isolating (by raising) indicates strength. AJo is likely well behind, so wait for another spot.

Easy fold.. maybe think about shoving if it’s suited

Chris Reply:

You’d really shove if its suited?
Being suited only adds about 4%. I’m folding both AJo and AJs here.

Definite fold. Way to early to get yourself committed preflop OOP vs. 2 players with a 2nd tier hand. I probably call/shove QQ+ / AK and fold everything else in this spot.

Agree with Pirate. Pretty pointless quiz. It almost seems like its set up to be a trick question or something. If you can’t see that this is a FOLD spot then you are definitely a beginner. Enough said.

Yea…gotta fold. I didnt immediately click fold, but thats only cause it took me a moment to realize we had zero fold equity against player D. We could easily be ahead or dominating the all in shortstack, and I dont think player D’s flat necessarily indicates strength, it could easily indicate a guy with some chips who wants to play his hand against a wide range shortstack shove. KQ, A10-AK, 55-99, that type of range. The problem is if we shove, we’re getting called 100% of the time by player D, and even if we’re in decent shape against the 2 opps, that still means we’re roughly 30% to win chips while risking our tourney life. Doesnt sound like a great idea…wait for a better spot.

Fold! Does Small stack have a better A, Is big stack calling and not re-raising because hes weak or because he wants a re-raise?
Call and your 1st after the flop, if U get squat do you then go all in or check and then fold to a bet when Big Stack goes all in.
Would Big Stack just call if weak with so many players after him?
Fold and live for another day!

Fold it. Unless you don’t care about your $50. I’d say the All-In player has atleast 9′s and up or AK. Either way your shot!.
