DailyHandQuiz

Game type: $50 rebuy PokerStars
Stage of tourney: Near money
Your image: Fairly aggressive
Opponent’s image: No read
Your hand: J♣J♥

The setup: You’ve built a very strong stack as this $50 rebuy tournament approaches the money. This hand you get JJ and 2.5x it preflop. A fairly short player flats you from the CO. The rest of the table folds and the flop comes:

7♥6♠3♥

It’s your action. What’s your play?

Voted check-call. This will show some weakness and may induce the short-stacked v to make a play. Risk is a free card on drawing board. Plus is you are likely to get under-pairs to shove. Leading may not get the maximum value, i.e. v may fold now or on turn. CR is a viable alternative; CF – back to the blackjack table.

this is exactly why an aggressive image pays off. you lead here and tempt your opponent to guess wrong for his stack, while protecting your hand. if he does guess wrong and shove, call and hope his 5-8 outter doesnt hit.

I’m charging him something here. I lead for about half the pot. Hopefully he’ll try to shove and I’ll snap call. I think if he had Queens or better preflop he would have raised preflop. I really don’t want to see a queen, king, or ace hit the turn so its gonna cost something to see it for sure, in this case, about 4,500.

Lead-Call for the same reasons mentioned.
I’m pretty sure I have the best hand right now and I have no intention of letting V hit an over for free.
