Voted lead. Hero has a strong-line so far and now has picked-up added potential outs. The paired board is always a concern. However, this is heads-up vs. an aggro, so I think you plow ahead here with a blocking bet. The potential outs are 7 hearts, 4 deuces, and 4 7s. Based on those, I’d lead for about 30% of the pot, say $4.4k. Checking leaves the door open to be priced-out. C-R seems risky because all of your outs may not be good.

Agree with samo.

Great card for another lead. I’d fire all three barrells on this board.

Lead is the only play here.

Check-call would make sense if you thought you could get a bunch more chips out of SB when your card hit on the river. But by changing betting strategy at this point, you risk communicating that you’re on a draw. This move would also lower your chances of shoving him off his hand if your card does *not* hit.

Check-raise would make sense if you were convinced that you could push SB off his hand. But your flop bet was pretty strong and he didn’t go anywhere. He’s either on overs, a pair, or trips. Given your hole betting, he probably puts you on some of the same, although he knows you don’t have trips. So you can’t be sure he’d go.

Leading is the right move then. If there actually *is* a chance he’ll go, you still get to test him. The chance he raises is small, given that he’s not sure what you’re on. If he *does* raise, you’re probably looking at trips and can make your decisions then. If your card hits, he’ll have no idea and might be tempted to run with you when you ship.

samo says lead for about 1/3 of the pot. what happens if he feels that 1/3 of the pot means your hand is weak or drawing hand and he raises you 3X’s? what do you do then?

samo Reply:

If v raises to $13.2k (4.4×3), that makes the pot ~$32K. Hero would need to put-in $8.8k more, so the pot odds are there to make the call.

Lead

I see check-check happening here way too often, and then we can’t get his stack involved reasonably at the end.

If he has a 6, a 9, or an overpair, I’d like to try to end the match, so I lead here.
