Game type: 1/2 NL Cash, Full Ring
Your image: TAG
Opponent’s image: Fairly aggressive preflop, haven’t seen him go to many showdowns
Your hand: A♥K♣
The setup: You haven’t done much so far in this no limit cash game. This hand, two players limp early and then the CO makes it $10 to go. You flat call and the BB and limpers fold. You flop top pair:
A♥2♦7♠
You check and the CO bets $18 into $26. You call. The turn brings the 9♣. You check and the CO bets $29. You call. The river brings the 3♥.
You check a third time and now the CO almost instantly shoves all in. What’s your play?

Call.
This is a pretty marginal spot to call because its very hard to see our opponent betting for value any hand weaker than ours. It should be pretty clear we either have an ace or a pair like 88-JJ so when they bet the river again i’m not that confident my hand is good.
Best case scenario is we are up against AJ/AQ because betting here with anything weaker is essentially a bluff and this is not a board that lends itself to a bluff.
This leads me to thinking our opponents range is mostly hands we are behind.
Without a better read on our opponent and baesd on the way we have played this hand and the money already in the middle I feel we have to call here.

Voted call. Normally don’t like to let it ride with only a pair, but I think we are ahead here based on the villain’s betting pattern and hero’s disguised hand. We are somewhat disadvantaged by not having not seen v go to many showdowns. After making a strong c-bet, the v then bet less than half-the-pot on the turn, then overbets the riv. In my experience (albeit relatively brief) this pattern usually indicates weakness. Hero has checked and induced action the entire way. Getting better than 2-1 here, so call them up.

Aggro opponenet insta-shove = bluff to me, not to mention how underrepped our hand is. On the other hand I would need a really-really firm read that the guy is hyper aggro postflop to play TPTK this passively.
Basically, we are very lucky that the other guy was so kind to do the betting for us. Now call and if CO shows A3 / 45 try playing the hand more actively next time.

i folded because i think we are beat here as he hit a set probily the 2′s

I voted fold. Even though we are underrepped, there’s nothing in our opponents betting for value range that we beat (this we all pretty much agree with). Also, incredibly dry board, so there’s no way our opponent is bluffing his busted draw. He’d have to 3 barrel 87s or KQ or something, and how many 1-2 players make 3 barrel plays like that? Or big river bluffs at all?
Without any specific read, I say we have to lay it down.

I voted fold because we played the hand like an idiot and have no idea where we stand.. I don’t think we’re beating too much of his range besides a bluff.

Fold. For the guys who voted call. Keep in mind this guy is aggresive preflop, but hasn’t gone to many showdowns. That’s means he fools around with hands early, but if he continues all the way, he’s got something. He’s bet three streets. He has no reason to beleive you are going to fold. He wants to get all his money in the middle with a hand he thinks is best. The board is dry, so no busted draws to bluff.
My best guess is he fooled around with AX preflop and hit aces up.
He also could have a set, though that’s less likely.
