I’m having a hard time putting your opponent on a hand here. It seems like most draws and overpairs or better would have probably just c-bet the flop. The combination of your large bet and position should have dissuaded most floats, although the board is so draw-heavy that you can’t rule one out.
I think your queens are still the best hand here, and your opponent has played the hand so passively to this point that it’s hard to imagine them check-raising you with a worse hand. I’m going to bet about 2/3rd pot and hope to check down the river if called.
What actually happened: You bet 4500 and your opponent folded.

I don’t think the king hit him and I don’t think he’s slowplaying a set with flush and straight draw floating around. I put him on a flush draw himself or a “weak” overpair (99, TT) that is no more an overpair. I bet about 2000 that seems like I’m preparing for a river shove. If he raises I’m probably folding. If he calls I’ll probably have a free showdown. Ih he fold…well done!

I would put out a relatively small bet, say $2500, to further test the waters here. That king is scary, as it is quite possible he could be holding AK or AQ and is looking for an opportunity for his hand to improve or to steal on the river. It is also quite possible he has a flush draw. $2500 is enough to make him nervous so if he calls and does not improve he will check on the river, allowing you to see if the queens have held up. Also if he is looking for the hand to improve and calls, the pot will be bigger. If he raises, get out, there will be easier battles to fight later on.

Floating OOP and checking again?! We are so far ahead or behind it’s not funny but it would be sick for a heart to hit the river and face a bet. This is a real tricky spot but being a tourny I’m more likely going to value bet 2nd pair now (2400) rather than check and call (bluff catch / pay off) on the river which would be my line in cash.

I’m a little confused by the majority vote to check here (at least at the time I answered the quiz. Queens are just too strong a hand in a tourney to not be for value. The king is not that scary and will force better hands to play correctly against you. So, put a bet out there. If you are raised, throw up a little. But you are likely ahead and want those 99′s to call you.

I opted for checking the turn behind and looking forward to calling down the river. I think that by having an aggressive image we stand to get check-raised at this spot pretty wide and queens are not a strong enough hand to call a reship – so I would rather slow down and play small ball here.

i put out a half potish bet for several reasons. 1, to get value if hes behind but has something, 2, to find out if im behind, 3, to get a free river if i decide i want it. if he calls here, its likely that he will check the river and then i can decide if i want to check behind or bet for value. if you check the turn, you could find yourself facing a much larger river bet that could be a bluff or a made hand, no way to tell. then you have to make a hero call on a scary board when a flush, straight, or ace hits the board…or fold…and id rather avoid that if possible.

I can argue for betting or checking, but I think the strongest arguments would be for checking because of the way the action unfolded.
checking – There is just no reason to play for stacks here.
1) A check on the turn allows us gain a bet from a hand that can’t call a turn double barrel (especially knowing they may be facing a 3rd barrel on river) but may look you up after checking the turn gaining extra value from weakish hands like small pairs or Ax type hands.
2) Most heart draws with overs and even those combo draws with straight draws would play this hand faster than villain did with the # of outs they would believe they had, so the risk of the free card is pretty small (2 outs to 5 outs most likely).
3) If we are behind, we stand to minimize any losses.
4) It allows villain to bluff the river when it appears we gave up after the turn scare card.

i said check to allow the opponents 55s or 77s bet on the river. its pretty much clear that were way ahead now and i want to try and get a bet out of him on the river.

I voted bet more than half the pot. Definatelly wouldn’t give him credit for any kind of a king. If he calls again, it’s possible that you were beat to beginne with.

Good analysis by the staff. I voted half-pot bet or more to dissuade crying calls from any draws out there, but you are 95% value betting here.
