Kings facing raise of terrible board, no limit tournament

I’m assuming your opponent is almost always committed to the pot when you raise. There might be some points where they fold, but I think it’s a tiny part of their range. So, discarding that, you’re essentially facing an all in here.

That means you’re calling 1465 to win 1885, or about 1.2-1. Against just about pair and naked heart, you’re a coinflip. Against a naked ace, you’re roughly a 55-45. Against a set, two pair or a flush, you’re drawing pretty slim.

Against an opponent who is pretty clearly committed to this pot, I don’t think you’re doing well enough to make this call. You’re probably not too far off from the right price to call, but with so little invested and so much poker to play, I don’t think you’re getting paid to gamble here.

What actually happened: You shoved and the BB called, showing QJo for two pair. You failed to improve and lost the hand.

You’re only beating KQ AQ and even then not by much if up aagainst Kh or Ah. You found out were you were with the flop raise and can find a better spot.

Easy fold. You made a small bet and found out where you stand. BB may be on the nut flush draw, so don’t risk your tourney at this stage.

Yeah, way too early to gamble like this. Villain likely has either flush, flush draw, two pair, or top pair with A or K kicker. Odds are awful, situation no good. Let it go and move on.

Have to disagree with everyone here.

1. “You’ve raised a couple pots already when the following hand comes up.” - Leads the BB to think this could be a steal attempt.
2. You are on the button, again adds to the appearance you are trying to steal.
3. The BB could be trying to push you off the hand and get a few more chips before the break and the blinds go up. He could still fold and have enough chips to try again.

If this is a tournament of pros I would agree with everyone’s advice that you are probably beat unless it is a good bluff. However, in average to low level players that are still in most tournies around the break, I consider this an all-in and I live with the outcome.

I would definitely fold looking at a possible flush draw

@3_olives, this is not a question of playing pros or donks, it’s just a matter of common sense. do you really think he basically risks his whole stack to prevent you from stealing a few chips? with 30-50xBB behind? no way. take it as what it is, a protective reraise and spare your chips for a better moment.

I wouldn’t consider the raise as a sure protective raise. He might consider us to try to steal and is also very likely that he is after a draw (sratight or flush) or with a Q

You have an overpair to the board and may very well be best.

The check raise may have been top pair without a heart checking to the aggressor, trying to squeeze an extra bet out before raising out the heart draw. On the other hand, he could have the Ace of hearts and be free-card (no bet), bet: semi-bluff hard.

If there is no ace, no heart, no queen on turn, call his shove or shove yourself.

lmao, calling would be the worst possible thing. yeah, lets put 40% of our stack in and then fold if one of apx. 15 outs comes (depending on the holding).

clear fold. too deep of stacks to raise all in with no redraw. youre pretty much racing against hands as bad as Qx8h.
