Small pair in the SB facing reraise, no limit tournament

Game type: $1000 NL tournament, PokerStars
Stage of tourney: ITM, 50/723 remain
Avg stack: 150k
Your hand: 5♦5♣
The setup: You’re in the money of the PokerStars 1k Sunday. You’ve been card dead and inactive for the last few rounds and you’re sitting on a short stack. This hand the table folds to the CO, who opens for 3x. The button folds and you call from the SB. The button re-raises to about 45k total.
The CO folds. What’s your play?

One of those quizzes where we are asked to get our of a tough spotm which we wouldnt be in if it was not for a horribly bad decision allready made.
What the f… are we doing flat calling a raise with 55 out of position 12BB deep in the first place? We have absolutely no set-mining odds, and there is bound to be overcards on the flop. And against a late position raiser, there are no “safe” overcards.
Even though our fold equity is low, coming over the top in the first place would be better. Either that or a fold.
I am not sure what to do now, as the big blind seems to be in a great resteal spot after a late raise and a flatcall. But as hero obviously must be a donk from flatting in the first place, he has a better chance of winning by taking a gamble that trying to outplay his opponents I guess.

Lol, omg, just realized that there is both a call and a raise option. Hadn’t noticed that his bet didn’t cover heros stack, by call I off course meant raise.
What is the difference, really? No one can ever call without putting in the rest anyway, and raising has no FE.

This question is the worst. Why would you ever flat call in the sb there? I’m probably raising all in with 55 there… and get pretty much koolered… as the bb wakes up with a hand and im assuming the c/o is lag and is raising jq garb. O well this question is horribly set up.

I vote fold. No way that BB is dancing with CO at this point without a very good hand to start with. The range for this type of raise against a stack that can do damage is about JJ-KK and maybe AKs. My stack is a total afterthought here and my fives are probably already beat. Like others, pretty bad call in the first place.
I’m tempted to shove given that I’m now severely short stacked and any future action will probably require one anyway. But I think I know enough that I’m way behind without enough outs and will pray for a better spot while flogging myself for such calling off a quarter of my limited stack on a pretty weak hand.

i would raise/all in.. i’ve been card dead and inactive for the last few rounds and being the SB + short stack an all in here would surely make the BB think. pocket 5 head’s up isn’t bad e i definetly believe he’s just trying to pull his BB off pre-flop.. I’m ALL IN!

Even at 2-1, this seems like a clear fold. The BB is showing a good amount of strength by raising here with you in the middle short-stacked and likely to call. You’ll be flipping a decent amount of the time, but not enough to make this call worth it. Plus, you’ll still have a little bit of fold vig with your stack if you bail now and a full orbit before the blinds hit again.
What actually happened: You raised the rest of your stack and the BB called, showing QQ. Their hand held up and they won the pot.
