I would imagine your opponent has you on a range that includes big aces and pocket pairs, and I’d figure them to be on a pretty similar range.

If you bet here, it’s going to be hard for your opponent to continue with most of that range. Even if they have a hand like JJ, they’re going to have a pretty thin set of hands to put you on that they can beat now that the king has hit.

If you check, you might be able to squeeze some value out of your opponent when they’re holding a medium pocket pair, and you might even get them to take a stab at the pot. You’re also not in much danger at all of being outdrawn.

Checking might cost you some value when your opponent did hit the K, but since you’re holding AA, the number of K-having hands he’s can have is pretty low.

I like the check, largely because of how safe the board is and your position.

What actually happened: You checked and the turn brought the Td. He checked again and you bet $190. He folded.

I bet 200-250$, I want a call from AK and perhaps AT. If he has TT I’m dead anyway so I don’t want to give a free card. Look at what actually happened, a ten arrived on the river and if he had AT it’d have been a disaster.

i think you need to bet more than half the pot here.. there are a number of hands that he could hold that would have helped him on the turn and you dont want him to suck out on you without him paying for it… looks like he might have A10 or K10 so betting seems like the right play.. if he has pocket kings or tens then thats just a cooler and at least you played it right

This guy doesn’t have jack crap. You can tell he’s on a weak draw by the way he’s betting, he is not at all confident in his hand. If he had a hand he would’ve made a big check-raise at the flop or a raise on the turn. Even a small bet here forces a fold. The board is safe enough to let another card hit, theres no way he’s chasing down a flush. He hasn’t paired the ten or the king, and he doesn’t have a set. Best act like the king scared you, try to goad him into taking a stab on the river, and then check rasing him. Or if he still doesn’t bet on the river, bet something either suspiciously small or suspiciously large. Otherwise, I don’t see this pot getting any bigger.

If somehow, my read is off, and he’s got TT KK or inexplicably hit a set with the fours, check is the better idea here too. You’ll be able to tell by his play on the river if he’s been trapping you, without having to sacrifice another 250$ to do it

In general I don’t like to get tricky in a situation where I don’t know anything about other players and they don’t know me. However, given that we have $720 left with $575 in pot and villain has us covered, I’d say that in this situation I would like to get all my chips in by the river, and for this checking the turn looks like a good option. King was actually not a very good card for us here (unless we’re up against AK but that’s a bit too much to ask). We are only getting called by hands that have us positively crushed while giving a free card might induce a stab or at least help to get a call by QQ/JJ for smaller river bet.

I have been taking this quiz for about a week now and this is one hand where i haven’t been in the majority of the percentage. I like checking here. One your in position…pot control. If this guy is capable of what everyone thinks A 10 …K10… he is capable of firing a river bluff-value bet. He could easily have tens here…I would like to think he would not have KK for he would have RR oop against anyone on the button. I don’t see how checking is a bad play. Realistically in any scenario he is probably only drawing to 2-5 outs whatever he has. I will peel a free card for 10 percent…if i can get him to throw a half bet on the river. If he did call marginally with A-10 or has A-k it doesnt matter. I think pot control here is the most key play as i stated the hand plays a little differently when you check the turn, and has more hidden value. :)

Voted check. If we bet, we’re committing our stack basically, folding out most hands were ahead of and getting stacked by the ones were not. The king is a scare card for all pairs that arent TT or KK and those hands have us crushed. The only hand villain could hold that is good for us to bet here is AK. Were probably ahead, and theres little chance of being outdrawn so im not worried. As far as value, at worst he check folds the river and we dont make more money, and at best he bluffs, we call and double up. If hes got us crushed, he will probably value bet the river saving us money. Sounds like all good reasons to check here.

I go with the minority of voters, who seems to be the majority of the debaters.

Just check, we wont get a call from a worse hand now, but we migth on river. And I just dont see him calling a 3-bet from early position with a hand that has more than two outs to beat us if we are ahead.

easy and standard check here.

the only hands you’re going to get value out of are here are is AK. It’s obvious he has pp or AK…which means I have ~$546.25 equity, and he’s got about ~$28.75…by checking here, you’re only giving up $28.75 to disguise your hand completely and make a ton more if he stabs the river with AK, or calls you because he can’t put you on a hand.

I think you’ll make a lot more money on the river here then on the turn, even if you’re giving up a tiny bit of equity to do so.
