Top two pair in raised pot, high stakes no limit cash

Game type: 200/400 NL Cash Full Tilt Poker
Your image: Selectively aggressive
Opponent’s image: A little wild
Your hand: A♠Q♦
This hand took place between Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond and Ram Vaswani. You’ll be standing in for Phil. Thanks to high stakes report for the hand history.
The setup: It’s early in this high stakes cash match and there haven’t been any really significant hands - just smaller pots passed back and forth.
Both of you have been fairly active preflop. This hand Ram raises to 3x preflop and you re-raise to $4,400. Ram calls and you flop top two:
6♣A♥Q♠
You lead for 6k, and Ram quickly calls. The turn bricks:
3♠
It’s your action. What’s your play?

I voted half of the pot or more, but it’s probably not the best choice, because it would probably chase the opponent out of this hand.

i voted check to induce but after reading the analysis, betting seems to be the best way to get the most money in on turn and river combined (but i only think about one street at a time coz im a fish), it seems the river pairing has got ram to make a crying call with a weak ace hoping for the chop not the varswani i know but i know alot of american players dont rate him but i do i hope this was a one of for him lol.

check
opponents image = a little wild, he is very likely to bet twice
against wild opponents this is how you beat them

How do we know that he didn’t have wired 6’s?

because if youre worried about someone flopping a set when you hit top two, you’re playing a little too cautiously

I voted quarter to half pot. If you look at the stack sizes and likely scenarios, clearly the idea is that you want to:
A) Bet the most you can, that he is likely to call
B) leave the correct remaining stack amounts behind so that it will be easy for him to call the river bet given the pot to stack size ratio
Betting 8-10k is both easy for him to call now, and will leave us with stack sizes that are less then the pot on the river. Meaning it will be likely he calls with any sort of hand.
The way I see it, he’s either got 2 or 4 outs (or a set, of 6’s which is unlikely). I am strictly thinking about how to get all the chips in on this one.

Imagine losing an 80k pot
I would jam my face into the monitor.

I figure no draws to worry about, he’s either got trips, a weaker ace, KK, or JJ. This in mind I’d wanna bet enough for a weak ace to make a crying call but not so small he gets the idea to reraise and put me in a bad position. so I’d vote 1/2 pot if it was a choice. If he raises that then probably an easier fold to possible trips.

There are no real draws here to be worried about so the question is how much will he pay? He could have a smaller ace, but also hands like KQ, QJ, or even complete air looking to take it away on this street.
I like about a half pot sized bet here. It welcomes the weaker hands to call and it’s small enough that it could invite Ram to make a move.
A check is likely to induce a bet here, but once we call or raise and lead out on the river, he’s probably going to get an idea of where we are. I think leading give us a much better chance to get more money on the river.
What actually happened: You bet 8k and Ram called. The river paired the board with a 6 and you shoved for the rest of your stack. Ram called and mucked when you showed your hand.
