Cash, NL / Full

Two draws against determined opponents, no limit cash

Game type: 5/10 No Limit cash on Full Tilt
Your image: Fairly aggressive
Opponent’s image: The button has been a little tilty and loose; the blind has been fairly TAG.
Your hand: 6♣5♣

The setup: You’ve been involved in a few pots so far this session but you’ve yet to really get any big hands or momentum. You’re up against a fairly tight opponent in the blind and a looser, possibly tilting opponent on the button.

In this hand, UTG folds, UTG+1 limps, you limp and the table folds to the button, who calls. The blinds call and check, and you flop strong:

3♣9♦7♣

The SB thinks and then leads for $40. The BB folds, UTG +1 folds, and you decide to make a play at the pot, and you raise to $155. Somewhat to your surprise, the button thinks for a bit and flat calls and the SB elects to call as well.

The turn misses your draw with the K♥. The SB checks. There’s over $500 in the middle and it’s your action. What’s your play with the double gut and flush draw?

Can’t bet here. I’m not gonna get Tilty McTilterson to fold after his extremely strong flop call, so why try? He obviously liked his hand a lot on the flop, enough so that the turn K isn’t going to scare him. It seems clear enough to me he likes his hand enough to call my shove, and while I’ve got outs I’m still certainly behind.

I’ll check here and call a reasonably sized bet, half pot or so. A shove I obviously can’t. We tried our move (which was a good one) on the flop, but this time it didn’t work out. Let it go when he shoves.

It is either check or shove.

I am a chicken, chose the first.

But I like the shove as well.

shove. I still have about a 30% chance to beat a set by catching a straight or flush and I surely dont want to see a rivered flush for free and wonder whether I am against a better flush.

Since I’ve started commenting here… nothing says lovin like a good shove in. Fortune favors the bold, especially with 15 outs and a good chance to get the button to dump.

“what actually happened” is completely meaningless

another question with no correct answer - there really isn’t enough info here to make the right decision but it’s definiately shove or check

the button might bet small enough to call

after all you have…. nothing!

I know what really happens here.

I shove.

Tiltus McCallAlot calls, SB folds.

I lose to 44c or 88c.

Then I remember to play MTTs instead of Cash Games.

Wait, if the loose button has a set, wouldnt he reraise the flop bet with all those draws out there?

Smells something like 910 or 89 with one club. meaning we lose of our outs, but also meaning that turn makes him fold.

Tilty is sitting on K9c or K7c. He’s desperate to make up the money hes lost, so instead of value betting his two pair with a flush draw, he tries to get someone to make a call with a worse flush draw or someone who just spiked a king on the turn.

Check and get out to a bet. You made your stab at the pot; it’s clear the button is not going anywhere.

You are probably up against a better club draw, including maybe a king, or even a higher straight draw. What hope do you really have of winning?

Check fold. I didn’t get the least of my goals with the lead out which was to get HU. With 2 callers I agree we have less than a 30% chance here to make a hand by the river. It sucks but thats poker. A shove on the turn may not have much fold equity after building a big pot against these two players and that is all I have here is SOME fold equity. The Button looks pot committed to me any way with his stack being not much more than the pot after putting in 20% of his stack. I think he isn’t going to go away if I shove with a big semi bluff. Tuff spot but I fold here.
