I vote call, but I like the all in too.
What I like the worst is the standard raise. He will probably call most of the time, trying to catch your c-bet.

If you just call, there are two possibilities:
If BB raise standard, you still have a big enough stack to reraise him all in, and he migth fold. Otherwise you are probably in real good shape to double up.
If BB checks, you are not committed postflop, and are likely to get payed on a good flop.

The good thing about the shove is that you have less risk of action.

I voted for raise 5X, but I change my mind - the all-in here would make more sense. A standard raise of 3XBB or an atypical 5XBB would only seem to the big stack as though you are trying to steal his blind. Remember, a short hand between the BB and the SB is as good as heads-up, and the BB will consider your 5XBB raise to be a standard heads-up move, and his ego might not let him be muscled out by the BB, over which he has a positional advantage post-flop.

However, an all-in push from the SB would do the following:

a. Take away the post-flop positional advantage the BB will have.
b. An all-in worth $1m in chips will really take a big chunk out of the BB’s chips, and if he loses, he will face a $2m chip stack. After all, the BB may have any two cards.

MY FIRST RESPONSE WAS TO GO ALL IN.
THEN I THOUGHT IF HE IS PLAYING AGGRESSIVE … I WOULD CALL, THINKING HE WILL RAISE ME AND AT THAT TIME I WOULD PUSH ALL IN.

Very good question…

1. Your hand is too good to fold here pre-flop.
2. 99 is very vulnerable to 5 cards coming out.

So, you have two goals here, to get paid as much as possible while still limiting your opponent to seeing as few cards (even none) as possible.

If you shove, there’s a good chance that he’ll just fold and you pick up $100k in chips, but you have little chance of giving your opponent 5 cards here.

If you raise any amount, the big stack may put you all in and you will have to call and most likely be in a coin flip situation.

If you call, your opponent may now raise, and you can shove, holding some fold equity on the opponent. Or, if you call, your opponent may check behind to see a free flop. If he checks behind, you are almost certain to see something hit above your 9s and you’ll really have no idea of where you stand. I’d bet the pot on the flop and hope he goes away, but if not, you’re going to have to fold for a better spot.

So, I like either call/shove the reraise; call and play a small pot, or just shove all in.

The overshove has the least risk since he may fold, but I actually think that I prefer a call here and let him raise where I can re-raise shove.

I would just go all in on the pair on nines and hope for a really good flop.
since he is being a bully if i just called he would put me all in anyway……battle of the blinds lol.

Yes, you go all in. You want either of these outcomes: 1) he folds; 2) he calls and you probably get to double up. What you don’t want is for him to get a chance to force you off the hand.

If you are willing to shove for all your chips, which is a correct play, then I would prefer the raise 5x followed by a shove on the flop regardless. If he calls this 5x raise, which he will do with lesser hands than he would for the all in shove, there is 618k in the pot and you have just over that behind. On the flop, with you acting first, you go all in regardless. Assuming he has two overs, he should miss the flop 70% of the time. Even if he pairs something on the flop and it is not great, he may still fold to your flop shove (like a flop of K 10 4 offsuit, and he had J 10). If he has any pairs 10-10 or higher, you were going to go broke anyways.

im not seeing where it gives the blinds…anywhere from 10-15bbs you shove, 16-20, make it 3x and call a reraise if he shoves u. 99 is a great hand heads up, specially against an aggresive player…as far as the 6k if u dont bubble..always play to win!!
