Game type: 6 max No Limit Multi Table
Your image: Fairly TAG
Stage of tourney: Still early, just a bit after the first break.
Avg stack: About 3500
Misc notes:
Your hand: T♥9♥
The setup: You’re over at a friends house sweating him as he plays a $109 6 max multi table tournament. He’s a pretty solid player with flashes of sharp play often followed by stretches of idiocy. He’s doing fine in this particular tournament when the following hand comes up.
Preflop the table folds to the button, who makes a standard raise to 180. Your friend calls and then the BB makes it 400. When the button flat calls, your friend decides to chuck in 220 more. The flop comes a bit awkward for his hand:
9♦2♣J♥
… and he checks. The BB fires out 1200, leaving just about 1200 behind, and the button flat calls. Your friend is about to fold, but then hit straightens up a bit in his chair, grabs the slider, pushes it to the max and clicks ‘Raise’.
Which of the following are you most likely to say to your friend after he makes this play?

Well, I can understand you reasoning, but, imho the raise is just pure gambling – but I have my fair shares of idiocy streches, so I don’t know if my advices are valuable

The reraise from the SB and the pot size bet on a semi-dry flop probably means overpair and the button could easilly have AJ the way he played the hand… I think you’re behind in the hand, the fold was probably a good idea.
I liked the call pre-flop though. You have good oods and a good value hand in a 3 people pot.

I would have folded too.
I have notices that the graphics dont tell the same as the text lately.
Text: BB bets leaving him with 1200, button calls.
Graphics: BB has 2800 left, UTG calls.
confusing

No Brainer. Fold you donk!! It is the right move. Even if you are ‘ahead’ and even if you pick up a draw on the turn you can still pick a better spot to go for the jugular. To the small percentage of fools who said ‘teach me all of what you know’, I hope to see you on the felt at Commerce Casino…I’ll be the one with all the chips at the $200 NL Game. To the guys at dailyhandquiz.com: Keep up the good work…It is always fun to screw around at work crafting my game. Thanks again!!

Fold.
The thing that set up my Spidey Sense was the post-flop bet by the BB. He pot commits himself without going all-in. Why wouldn’t he go all-in instead? He wants to encourage action, no?
You are almost certainly behind here. Probably an overpair, maybe something like AJ, or if you’re “lucky” trips. You’re probably something like 3 or 4 to 1 against the BB, and that’s not the odds you’re getting. On top of this, you’re presuming that the button’s call indicates weakness. Probably, but the fact he’s still around (and can stack you) doesn’t help you here.

I would say why the wreckless play?? You come over here to make money or just drink and play what ever? Yea I would be pisssed I am around a table of idiots. I cant stand playing with them its like playing a hand in the dark and catching makes me sick.
I tell them to play a real cash game and see what happens then. Morons dont know what hit them in a cash game.

I think the BB has AK… i wouldnt risk raising here, especially with the button playing strange… but I understand why you would… out of curiosity what happened with this hand

I tell you what I would likely do – push the slider up to max, then decide against it – check the stacksizes considering a flatcall, then fold instead.

Normally when someone bets out half their stack they are pot committed, and they are holding a monster. You’re beat.
