Game type: 2 table Turbo No Limit SNG
Your image: TAG, heavy on the tight.
Stage of tourney: Top 4 pays
Avg stack: 6750
Misc notes: The short stack will basically run out of chips after the blinds
Your hand: ??
The Setup: You are down to the final five players out of a starting field of eighteen in thes $55 2 table NL Turbo SNG. Top four will make the money, which breaks down as follows: 4th = $99, 3rd = $198, 2nd = $297, 1st = $396.
UTG folds, and, to your surprise, the CO, who barely has enough chips to post the BB, folds. This is a turbo tournament, and blinds increase every five minutes. The blinds will likely be up to 500/1000 by the time the BB gets to you.

I’d actually really go on with the premium hands. As you say, player B will be out very soon and the SB situation is not that good either, so he could move with a marginal hand and get caught. I think you have strong chances that either B or the SB will be eliminated before you, so just wait to be in the money and start taking risks then.

Your M is 3.2 right now, it will be under 2 when the blinds go up. I think if you wait to be “in the money”, you might not have enough chips left to crawl out and compete and you’ll have to settle for 3rd/4th place. I would push all-in with any face card as long as I’m the first in the pot and try to win this thing.

I vote any ace, pair or broadway cards.
I would hate myself if I got caugth bluffing on the bubble, but with a hand better than average two hands it would be a bit pathetic to bubble play with 6 BB´s left. Remember the blinds are just as concerned about bubbling as you, and they will probably fold a lot of decent hands.

Gotta be aggressive here if the goal is to win, if it is just to get paid then only premium hands.

Im pushing with any two cards here. There is no gurantee that the shortstack will be eliminated whne the blinds hit him, and a doulbe up puts him over 3k in chips. I also will be credited with having a solid hand regardless with what I push with because of my table image, and my goal is to win the tournament. I have enough chips to not make it worthwhile for either of the blinds to call without a premium hand, and when I pick up the blinds I will move to 2nd in chips to start the next hand. This will put me in a better position to win the tournament rather then just cash. And the reason I favor any two cards is because regardless of what you push with you are only going to get called by monsters. So pushing with a hand like 76s is actually better then pushing with 88 or AJ when you are going to get called by AA or KK anyways. Unless you are pushing with a premium hand you do not want to be called

It’s true you have to be aggressive to, win but playing to win is not always the best goal in a SNG. On a regular tournament bubble of course you would be playing to win, but in a SNG where getting into the bubble is more than your buyin back you have to play to get into the money.

I’m pushing with any two cards. It would be stupid to push unless you have a premium hand because you’re almost in the money. Everybody should be aware of that so you’ll only be called by another premium hand.
