Game type: NL cash, 6 max
Your image: TAG
Misc notes: Short stack has raised quite often preflop
Your hand: 9♥8♥
The setup: Preflop, Player A raises to $8. You decide to call with your suited connectors, Player C folds and the blinds both call, putting $32 in the middle. The flop comes all diamonds:
5♦7♦9♦
… and the blinds both check. Player A bets light at $12, and you decide to see if you can’t take it down with your pair. You raise to $44, the blinds fold and Player A flat calls. The turn isn’t what you hoped for, but it’s also not exactly what you feared:
5♦7♦9♦A♦
… and Player A checks to you. There’s a little over $100 in the middle, and that’s right about what Player A has remaining behind. What’s your play?

I am a chicken. As the player called the checkraise, and often bets preflop, he migth very well call a bluff too. I think he is a loose agressive player.
I dare not try to bluff a loose player. There is no reason to think he doesnt have the K of diamond, the way he bet small on flop. I would forget about the hand and fold to any significant riverbet.

he called the 3 flush board, that would mean either he has u beat or had a good diamond draw. Either way you are treading dangerously.

I would 3 bet raise this hand pre flop. Easier to play from there onwards.
Can just call but on a flop like this I may even be inclined to fold it. I dunno tough one…..

Ignore the 3bet pre flop. This is an inst-fold.
Dont want to play with short stack with this hand.
