I’ll check and see if Player C makes a move. If so, I’ll re-raise
the same amount he raised to keep him in for the river. If not, I’ll make a “looks like I’m trying to steal” bet on the river.

As you say, nothing has changed here. I bet $40 (same bet as last round) hoping to build a pot.

I voted check – call. In my opinion the other tempting option is to bet half pot, hoping someone will call with something. But I have a feeling that someone with just two pairs or the like is more likely to bet more than half pot to protect it or see how they stand at this point, than to raise a bet.
But I am probably mistaken, as SB migth call too with a draw, making it too big a waste if player C checks and no pot is buid.
I dont like Marys suggested quarter pot bet. It looks suspicious, so it is not likely to get a raise. If someone calls it doesnt bring much to the pot, and they will not be likely to call a big bet later.

I make a minimum bet to signal weakness, like im just fishing for information. I’ll get two calls and at least some chips even if my opponents have nothing.
