Game type: $20 + $2 SNG
Your image: Pretty tight
Your hand: J♣9♣
Last hand you had just over 1000 in chips, hit a set against 2 shorter stacks and blamo! you nearly tripled up and made it to the money. Now the blinds go up, you are on the button with J♣9♣ and first to act. Make a move here?

It’s time to take advantage of my tight image and last hand win. I’ll either catch up to these guys or bust out. Big bet!

Push. We’re the short stack still, so we have nothing to lose. the players in the blinds do. We’re not getting away from the hand if we raise 4-5x and get reraised, so let’s just apply maximum pressure now.

Push. Bill hit it on the head.

Well I guess I’m the only one who’s willing to fold here. J9s is a marginal hand at best. If your raise gets called or you get re-raised you are definitely behind. Pick a better spot. Risking a lot of chips here with this hand doesn’t make sense. You’re only picking up 600 chips by risking your entire stack. Your image does help, but let’s be honest the big stacks are trying to prey on you. I’d fold and let them battle it out this hand. Jack high is just not a hand i would put my tournament on especially after grinding it out with the short stack.

J9 suited is a decent hand, but not good enough to raise. call, see a flop and play from there. if you raise, you could be betting into monster hands. they havent acted yet so call and get more info, maybe see a cheap flop.
