Daily Hand Quiz

Game type: NL, just short of full table
Your image: Very loose and aggressive
Misc notes:
Your hand: A♥6♥

Preflop: Everyone folds to the cutoff, who raises to 30 total. The button folds, the SB calls and you call. The flop smacks you in the face (in a good way, not an abusive way):

7♥8♥9♥

The Sb and you both check, and the CO bets $65. The SB calls and you decide to just flat call. Then things get weird when the turn brings a T♥. The SB checks, you check, and the CO checks.

The river brings the 8d, pairing the board. The SB leads out for $75 into $265. Action is on you – what’s your move with your straight flush?

I said call with every intention of calling any any over bet by the CO (big stack). Maybe neither has the Jack and are betting on the flush potential of the King or queen and nothings moving the Jack, a big bet would scare the queen and the King. A call gives me, I think, $75 more from the Cut off.

Check their breathing for the heart J. Call if heavy, raise small if regular and call a reraise in case a yogi has the heart J.

Try to get a read on them if they are looking through you and not at you and they are a tight player they more than likely have the J or they have a king high flush…if you are known as a loose-agressive player and you push all in; they will more than likely call thinking you have a small flush, but that’s just my opinion.

If you’re really that worried about them having the J, then you’re probably playing way too weak-tight. If they actually happen to have it….well then sorry my friend you just got coolered. I think the push is best in the long run. A strong LAG image plus the possibility your opponent made his FH makes a push the best in the long run. His small bet looks like either a)a blocking bet or b)he’s trying to induce a raise. It’s unlikely that he ‘d try to bluff with that small of a bet, but if that’s the case he’s folding to any raise at all anyways.

The fact that I would be holding the Ah would discourage me a bit but I’d have to push it all in this situation.

there is one card in the deck that beats you. 22.5:1 says he dosent have it. double his raise. give him a chance to call. if you go all in you will scare him off. the board paired at the end so maybe he caught his miricle boat, if he did he will pay you off nicely. the double bet also gives the chipleader a chance to call. with a loose aggessive table image, some one is going to call me down or play back at me. if anyone comes overtop, go all in. i think its the safest way to make the most money off of this hand.

Go all in. Even if you lose to the J Straight Flush, that’s a bad beat baby…pay me.
