Game type: No limit, shorthanded
Your image: You are brand new to the table
Misc notes:
Your hand: 8♣9♥
The setup: Preflop, player B raised to $4 and you called with your off suit connectors in the blind. You had modest hopes, but then caught an amazing flop:
Q♥J♠T♦
You decide to bet out, and lead at the raiser for $6 into an $8 pot. Player B thinks a bit and then makes the minimum raise to $12. What’s your move?
As a followup, how would your decision change if you held 9♠K♥?

The medium raise will most likely cause the player to fold which is not what you want in this situation. You bet into the raiser, he re-raised you. A re-re-raise no matter how small or large is going to say “I HAVE IT”. Flat call, then check the turn. If the player has anything he will bet it on the turn thinking his small probe bet has revealed you were stabbing on the flop. If he bets you can reraise with a higher probability of getting a call, or if he checks behind you can lead out on the river.

i agree with ruckus – any raise is going to give away the hand too soon. call and represent that you are now a little worried and then try to get a ton in on the turn.

I’m voting for the all in and here’s why: it doesn’t have to work very often and it looks like a semi-bluff. At lower limits, a lot of people are going to run with you holding AA or KK or even AQ since it looks like you’re trying to ‘steal’ one.
With K9 i will play slower since there aren’t as many scare cards on the turn
