Game type: No limit holdem, shorthanded
Your image: You have been card dead for about 15 minutes
Misc notes:
Your hand: 6♦5♦
The setup: Everyone limped preflop, and four players saw a flop of:
5♥5♣9♠
The Sb checked and the BB led out for a minimum bet of $2. You chose to flat call, the button folded, and the SB called. The turn brings the A♦ and both blinds check to you. What’s your play?
As a followup question for the comments, would your play be much different if the turn had come T♥? If so, why?

Tips for Surviving With a Short Stack
Someone may have hit the A, so just make a tenative bet and the A will probably call you.
The fact that you have not made many plays recently makes it harder for you to get paid off here. There also really aren’t any draws, so that’s tough too. The 10 would actually be a slightly better card in some ways as it gives people more reasons to call you.

The turn bringing an ace makes me bet out. If my opponent has an ace, he’ll give me action. If he doesn’t have an ace, I’m not getting action either way.
If the turn is a T, I’m less likely to make that bet, and may try to get more money into the pot using a checkraise.

Imo A medium-high bet is good either with a Th or an A hitting the turn.
A 2/3pot raise represents an A and if someone has it he might even check-raise you.
With the A turn a small bet is also good as proposed by the staff.
Should a Th hit the board instead then it gets a little tricky… someone might havce a straigh or flush draw… what hapens if a Jh hits the river? That is considerable risk there, so if the Th hitted, I’d have to agree with Mykel and put that decent bet on the pot
